It's hard to say Grannulus, although it something I think about often. With just a few societal changes the world could turn out to be a grand place, but if those changes don't occur we could ride down a slippery slope and who knows where…

Well I for one am pro-discussion. And this is the best pro-discussion discussion I've ever seen. Now if only we could go about discussing it some more.

The Future

Which direction do you see the future of America? or the World going? I'm not a person who sees the future of mankind as a doom and gloom situation. I like to look towards the future for hope for us, mankind. As usually though there is always change, just as a catipillar changes into a butterfly so we must to reach that next step in what one would say 'evolution'.  With the news of the weather being very unpredictable as it has become; floods, hurricanes, volcanoes and earthquakes. Of course…See More

So far the anti-discussion folk seem to be leading the way.....

Chat

ReEvolver has a chat function on the bar across the bottom of your screen. If you ever look down there and see more than one person Online then there are people available for chat. If you see my name pop up down there then that means I'm feeling chatty so you can feel free to give me a shout.

New here?

Welcome to the ReEvolver Tribe. Here are a few suggestions to get you going:

1. Dress up your profile page a bit. You can add a profile picture, tell us what you like to do, what you're interested in, add some widgets, etc. It's your page, make it look like yours.

2. Introduce yourself: Just a hello to let us know you're here and what you're all about.

3. Add yourself to the Member Map: We'll love to know where everyone lives. A general vicinity will do find, no need in making it easy for stalkers to find you.

4. Write a blog post: Everyone has a voice here, let yours be heard! We especially love to hear about self-sufficiency and homesteading experiences, but any topic is open for conversation.

5. Upload a video or photo: We especially love vintage photos of people who are engaged in acts of self-sufficiency. But post up any picture you like, think of this as your wallet where you keep pictures of the family.

6. Join a group: Have an idea for a new group? Let me know and I'll add it, so long as we're staying on the general theme of ReEvolving and it isn't duplicating another group.

7. Invite some folks to join us. The more the merrier.

The Occidental Rite of Passage

In the winter of 1997 I was sitting at my desk jotting down some ideas that’d been floating around in my head. At the top of a piece of paper I wrote:

Various and Sundry

I'm envisioning a more laid-back feel for the tribal community here than we have in the official ReEvolver blog. So the blog posts here are going to be a lot more conversational, with fewer bulleted lists. Yes, very laid back.

But it's lonely in here, so I would also like to see some other people realize that maybe my idea for ReEvolver is pretty damn brilliant and throw wads of money at me while I dance....no wait that was a different…

Welcome to the ReEvolver Tribe

At long last, the ReEvolver community is live and on the air and ready to accept members. It's a big deal, having a tribe all our own.

When I originally conceived of the idea for ReEvolver, the entire concept was centered around having a tribe of people who could contribute and even decide upon the direction of the site. My first attempt at building a tribe was done at great expense using Drupal software but I was never happy with the product. I'm already more satisfied with… Continue
